Titchwell Manor
Summary
Titchwell Manor is a luxury 28-room hotel located on the North Norfolk coast. Mammoth was approached to address rising energy costs and a lack of room-level temperature control while maintaining the high standards of guest comfort expected at the property.
Challenges
Heat Wastage
Guest rooms were heated continuously regardless of occupancy, with radiators running at full capacity even when rooms were vacant or between guest stays.
Doors & Windows Left Open
Staff and guests frequently left doors and windows open, resulting in significant heat loss with no notification system in place to alert the team.
Inconsistent Setpoints
Temperature control was manual and inconsistent across rooms, leading to guest complaints about comfort and wasted energy from overheating.
Solution
The Mammoth system was deployed across the guest bedrooms to monitor and control each room while still allowing guests independent temperature adjustment.
Performance was continuously tracked and optimised through Mammoth's software, with adjustments made to deliver a consistent temperature across all rooms. Time schedules were introduced to ensure vacant rooms were not unnecessarily heated while still being brought up to temperature in time for guest check-in.
